How many times have you set a New Year’s resolution or health goal, and been unable to reach it? Parenting is challenging and kids require a lot of your time and energy! Moms are constantly giving, but what happens when there’s nothing left to give, when your health is sacrificed and you cannot be the mom, wife, friend, person that you wish to be?
What we moms need is not a goal, not a resolution, but a lifestyle change that acknowledges our busy lives, that allows us to care for ourselves without guilt, that squashes the expectations placed on us as mothers and women in the home and at work.
Just as we cannot only treat the soil on the surface to nurture a tree, we must think about the deeper roots to ensure that the tree is healthy and has what it needs to grow. Health coaching helps us to find the source, or the root, of what is keeping you from your best self and uses strategies to break through those challenges.
Too often we don’t stick to changes because, especially as a mother juggling so much, they are too large and difficult to sustain.
